Helen Joy Keddy

Helen Joy Keddy – 83, of New Ross, passed away Thursday, February 22, 2018 in Evergreen Home for Special Care, Kentville. Born in Somerset, Kings County, she was a daughter of the late Clinton and Jessie (Moore) Barkhouse. Helen was an active member of the New Ross Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school and was involved with the Baptist Youth Fellowship. She was a fine living person who was very active and well reputed in her community, particularly the New Ross Fair. She was also a wonderful friend to many. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Stuart Keddy; a daughter, Janice (John) Flynn, Kelowna, BC; a son, Kevin (Diane) Keddy, Edmonton, AB; five grandchildren, Jessie (Justin) Goldstein, Connor Keddy and Shane Keddy, all of Edmonton; Jared Flynn and Justine Flynn, both of Kelowna; a nephew, Jeff. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was predeceased by a sister, Joyce (in infancy); a brother, Clinton. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Monday, February 26, 2018 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 27, 2018 in the New Ross Baptist Church, Reverend Rick Small officiating. A private burial will take place in the New Ross Baptist Cemetery. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the New Ross Baptist Church or the charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
