Wayne Edward O'Leary

Wayne Edward O’Leary - age 63, of Leminster, passed away March 9, 2018. Born in Windsor on September 23, 1954, he was a son of the late Wylie and Dorothy (Wile) O’Leary. He worked as a truck driver for over 40 years and earned several awards for safe driving. He was most recently employed with Day & Ross as an owner operator. He was a founding member and was actively involved for over two decades in West Hants Ground Search and Rescue. He was also a long time instructor for The Nova Scotia Hunter Education Program through the Department of Natural Resources. Wayne was a wonderful role model, kind and generous to a fault. He loved his family fiercely and unconditionally. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Gwen (Levy) O’Leary and his children, Gina (Andrew) and Shane; grandchildren, Sasha, Aiden and Anja; sisters, Theresa (Alan) Coombes and Carolyn (Donnie) O’Leary. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Mary Lightbody Coll. Cremation has taken place. At Wayne’s request there will be no service or visitation. A celebration of Wayne’s life will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2018 from 6-9 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion in Windsor, NS.
