Hilda Kathleen Clarke

1922-2018

Hilda Kathleen Clarke – 95 passed away the 4th day of April, 2018 at Grandview Manor, Berwick, NS. Born in Aylesford, she was the youngest daughter of the late Harley P. Corkum and Kathleen (Reading) Corkum. After being educated at Aylesford School, Hilda began work as a telephone switchboard operator and later became Chief Operator of the Telephone Company Office in Aylesford. She was a member of the Aylesford Baptist Church and later a member of the Kentville Baptist Church. She was a gifted seamstress, knitter, cook and a devoted mother to her children. After moving to and living in Quebec for 28 years, Hilda and her husband Gerald returned to Nova Scotia to spend their retirement years living in Kentville and Berwick. Hilda was predeceased by her husband, Gerald; sisters, Toppy, Viola and Mildred; brother, Harold. She is survived by her children, Leslie (Larry) Armstrong, Coldbrook and their children, Kyle (Tamarra), Nictaux, NS and Shaun (Melissa Pineo), New Minas, NS; son, Michael (Paula, deceased), Edmonton, AB and their children, Megan, Brooke (Mike Froland), Paul and Christopher; son, Greg (Lisa), Summerside, PEI and their children, Sigourney (Lee Brown), Vancouver Island; Stafford (Kayla Rice), Pangnirtung, Nunavut and Severn, Barrie, ON; daughter, Beth (Bradley Pinch), Winchester, ON and their children, Christopher, Ottawa; Amanda, Ottawa; Steffanie, Toronto; daughter, Nancy (Archie Campbell), Ottawa and their children, Ryan, Georgia, USA and Andrew (Nancy), Ottawa and five great grandchildren. Cremation has taken place. A graveside service for both Gerald and Hilda will be held at 11:00 AM on June 24, 2018 in the Lakeview Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
