With sadness we announce the passing of Ron Campbell, age 99, of Greenwich, NS. Ron passed peacefully in his sleep at Blomidon Court, Greenwich, NS on April 18, 2018. Ron was born in Westcock NB, spending his formative years attending Frosty Hollow and Sackville High schools as well as working on the family farm. He served in the RCAF during the Second World War as a wireless operator. Upon being discharged from the Air Force, Ron was employed as a telegraph operator before going over to the DAR. While with the railway he acted as Relief Agent, Assistant Agent, Station Agent, and finished his career as a Mobile Supervisor. Ron was an avid gardener and would lovingly provide neighbors, friends, and family with fresh vegetables throughout the growing season. He was active in community events, giving freely of his time and effort. He was a member of the Wolfville Curling Club, the Royal Canadian Legion, was a Scout leader and thoroughly enjoyed a spirited game of Auction 45's with friends. He will be dearly missed by his daughter, Shari (Dave) McKnight, Peterborough, ON; son, Mark (Lynn McMahon), Greenwich, NS; grandchildren, Alexander, NS; Nicholas, ON; Patrick, AB; Sarah (David), NS; Jared, NS; great-grandchildren, Emily and Mark, ON; sister-in-law, Maisie; many nieces and nephews. Ron was predeceased by his wife, Marie (Stephanson); parents, Seth and Minnie (Richardson); siblings, Jemima, Emma, Eleanor, Arnold, Edith, Norma, Otis, Spurdeon, Oscar, Horace, Minnie, Louise, and Kenneth. As per Ron's wishes there will be no visitation or service. A private family interment will take place at the Westcock Cemetery at a later date. Those wishing to make a donation in Ron's memory may be made to the Westcock Cemetery, NB, or the Valley Hospice Foundation. The family would like to thank the staff of Blomidon Court for the years of care they provided Ron and especially for the care and support during the past two months. Arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
