Winnifred Lillian Campbell

This is to report the passing of Mrs. Winnifred Lillian Campbell (nee Rumson) on April 22, 2018 at Wolfville, Nova Scotia. Mrs. Campbell celebrated her 100th birthday on April 3, 2018 in Wolfville. Mrs. Campbell was born in Saint John, NB in 1918, the first daughter and fourth child of Eben and Phoebe Rumson. She is survived by her sister, Thelma in Saint John, NB, and her brother, Gordon in Victoria BC. Mrs. Campbell lived in West Saint John where she met and married Kenneth Campbell in October 1940. Mr. Campbell served in the Royal Canadian Navy during the Second World War on convoy duty. They had one child, Gordon Kenneth in October 1943. The family lived in West Saint John, then Dartmouth, NS before being sent to Belfast, Northern Ireland in 1954 where Mr. Campbell served with the RCN during the building of HMCS Bonaventure. They returned to Canada in 1957 and lived in Halifax. They moved to Wolfville in 1972. They were active members of the community. Mrs. Campbell is survived by her son, Gordon, now living in the UK; her grandsons, Andrew and Martin in Penticton, BC, and her granddaughter, Beth, and her family in Saskatoon Saskatchewan as well she is survived by four great grandchildren, Logan and Emma in Penticton, BC and Morgan and Kenzie in Saskatoon. Full of fun, she will be missed by her family and friends. Arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
