Jean Marie Dodge

Jean Marie Dodge – 81, of New Minas, passed away on Friday, April 27, 2018 in the Evergreen Home for Special Care, Kentville. Born in Wolfville, Jean was the daughter of the late Roy and Dorothy (Spencer) Hunt. She was a member of the Wolfville Ridge Baptist Church. She enjoyed going for walks, knitting, and baking and decorating birthday cakes, which were enjoyed by friends and family alike. Jean enjoyed being a homemaker and raising her family. A kind and giving person, she was a friend to all. She is survived by her husband, Basil; a daughter, Marlene Dodge (Jeff Campbell), New Minas; a son, Marty (Mimi), New Minas; two brothers, Harold (Ellen) Hunt, Wolfville Ridge; Morris (Valerie), Beechville; five grandchildren, Megan, Matthew, Melissa, Cara, and Kayleigh; seven great-grandchildren, Ava, Orin, Maverick, Roy, Loretta, Taylor, and Harry; daughter-in-law, Kelly Dodge, her children, Tori and Riley; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a son, Darrell and a brother, William. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service, which will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 2, 2018 in The White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, with Reverend Gary Manthorne officiating. Burial will take place in Willowbank Cemetery, Wolfville. The family wishes to thank the staff of Evergreen Home for Special Care for the exceptional care and kindness shown to Jean. Donations in Jean’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Nova Scotia. Arrangements have been entrusted to White Family Funeral Home in Kentville.
