Noreen Mae Bauckman
1932-2018
Noreen Mae (Ives) Bauckman – of Cambridge, Kings County. On Friday, April 27, 2018, our dear mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away peacefully in the home she loved for 22 years. Noreen was 85 years old and born in Hamilton, Ontario. She was a daughter of Nora (Coughlan) and Arthur Ives and sister to Geraldine Campbell (Ives). Noreen worked as a bookkeeper for Christies in Hamilton, ON until she met her future husband, Ralph Griffin Bauckman of Annapolis Royal, NS. Together they had four daughters, Debbie (Karl) Kaleva, Lorne, Pictou County; Laurie (Charles) Davidson, Waterville, New Brunswick; Nancy (Terry) Miller, Port Williams; Karen Bauckman, Wolfville; seven grandchildren, Shelley, Bradley, Griffin, Sarah, Michael, Megan and Cayle; many great grandchildren. Noreen was a devoted homemaker. Being the wife of an RCMP officer, she was required to move from city to city, town to town and house to house, sometimes on very short notice. She managed the tearing down and setting up of many households with very little help and four young children. Despite the challenges she always managed to make a new house feel like a home. Over the years, Noreen’s hobbies included sewing, ceramics, decorating, playing cards and reading. She volunteered with organizations including the Catholic Women’s League and the Lionettes. She also enjoyed working at clothing stores in Kentville, such as Carousel Fashions, Chases and Reta’s. She and her husband, Ralph also loved to travel with their close friends. Noreen was predeceased by her beloved husband of 62 years, Ralph Griffin; her sister, Geraldine Campbell and her brother-in-law, Joseph Campbell. Cremation has taken place and a private memorial gathering will be held at a later date. Donations may be made to the Nova Scotia Lung Association. Arrangements have been entrusted to White Family Funeral Home in Kentville
