Eileen Christine Oickle

Eileen Christine Oickle – 90, of Kentville, passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2018 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Kentville, she was a daughter of the late Eva (Shay). She had been employed with Maple Leaf Foods for 34 years, retiring at the age of 62. She enjoyed playing bingo, baking pies and bread for family and friends, and trips to Cape Breton and Liverpool. She is survived by four daughters, Elaine (Gary) Hewey, Kentville; Sharon (Fred) Wentzell, Kentville; Jacqueline (Fred) Dominey, North Alton; Linda Smith, New Minas; three sons, Allan (Janice), Kentville; Raymond, Kentville; Maynard (Heather), New Minas; 12 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased her husband, Sydney; a son, Burton; four sisters, Evelyn, Justine, Jennie and Agnes; a brother, Murray "Mut". Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation, by request. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 14, 2018 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. Burial will take place in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill. Following the burial a reception will take place in the Meadowview Community Hall. Donations in memory may be made to Valley Regional Hospital Foundation or to a charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
