Elizabeth "Betty" Rockwell

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Elizabeth Frances "Betty" (Layton) Rockwell at the Gables Lodge Nursing Care Home in Amherst, on June 18, 2018. Born in Highland Village, Colchester County, NS on July 10, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Roy Clinton and Greta Motty (Hill) Layton.  She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Donald Edward Rockwell, who passed in May, 2017. She is lovingly survived by sons, Bob (Keri) of Frisco, Texas; Jim (Louise) of Nackawic, NB; Paul (Pam) of Nackawic and daughter, Nancy (Darron) Parker of Moncton, NB. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Adam, Chase, Mellissa, Jordan and Dillon and two great-granddaughters, Sophia and Emily. Also survived and will be missed greatly by sister, Sharon (John) Greer of Truro, NS and her sisters-in-law and brother-in-law of NS as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Betty was predeceased by an infant daughter, Deborah and sisters, Ruth and Audrey. Cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held at a later date.  For those who wish to make donations in Betty’s memory can do so to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation or to a charity of the donor’s choice.  The family wishes to thank the dedicated staff at Gables for the compassion and care of our mom during her last days. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
