Ada Grace Jollymore
1928-2018
Ada Grace Jollymore – 89, New Ross, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 26, 2018 in Ridgewood Seniors Home, Bridgewater. Born on October 7, 1928 in The Forties, she was a daughter of the late Percy and Alice (Veinot) Hiltz.
Ada worked in grocery retail most of her life, beginning at an early age helping out with the family store located in the home. She is known to many for her "Sloppy Joes" served at the lunch counter at Wade’s Grocery in Kentville. Ada was very social and loved to travel and camp. She belonged to the High Tide Drifters Camping Club, Hailey Dancers Square Dance Club and Christ Church Guild. She could often been seen on Tuesdays at various restaurants in the Valley and surrounding areas with the JULIETS (Just Us Ladies Indulging Every Tuesday). Ada loved her Sunday services and lunches with Reverend Judi and the ladies.
She is survived by stepchildren; Debbie (Brian) Long, South Alton, Brenda (Bruce) Cook, New Ross, Trudy (Gilbert) Donaldson, Tantallon, Cindy (Tim) Leopold, Hammonds Plains, Gregory (Marylou) Jollymore, New Ross; sister, Roxie Cote, Kentville; brothers, Maurice (Gladys) Burlington, ON, Maxwell (Elsie), New Ross; grandchildren, Stephanie, Rochelle, Tara, Amy, Jill, Jennifer, Taylor, Mark, Kris, Kory, Ryan, Jason, Tristan, Matthew; great-grandchildren, Adalyn, Ellie, Chantelle, Eva, Audrey, Emma, Ayden, Emmett, Maxwell, James, Landon, Harrison, Odin, Logan and Jaxson.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husbands, Floyd Jollymore and Clyde Redden; son, Joseph England; brothers Amos (Sue), Clifton (Margarite), Melbourne (Shirley).
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the home care workers and for the compassionate care Ada received at Ridgewood.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place from 7-9 p.m., on Thursday, September 6, 2018 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 7, 2018 in Christ Church, New Ross, Rev. Judi officiating. Family flowers only by request. Donations in memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society, Canadian Cancer Society, Christ Church in New Ross or the charity of ones choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
