Arnold Clarke Burbidge

Arnold Clarke Burbidge - age 89, of Centreville, Kings County, Nova Scotia. It is with great sadness the family of Arnold Clarke Burbidge announce his passing on Thursday, August 9, 2018 in the Valley Regional Hospital. He was born June 24, 1929 in Port Williams, Nova Scotia to the late Howard and Thelma (Gates) Burbidge. Arnold attended school in Lower Canard and joined the Army in 1947. He was a Veteran of the Korean War serving with the 1st BN. PPCLI. He also served on Peace Keeping in Cyprus and with the NATO Forces in Germany.  Upon retirement he settled in Centreville, Kings County, Nova Scotia. Arnold was predeceased by an infant son, Howard Ernest Clarke Burbidge and a sister, Phyllis MacLeod. He is survived by his wife, Margaret of 67 years; daughter, Mary Ann and husband, David Adshade of Centreville, Nova Scotia; son, Emerson and wife, Corena of Port Williams, Nova Scotia; four  grandchildren, Christopher (Chris) and wife, Caroline Adshade, Candace (Candi) Adshade, Margaret (Maggie) and Matthew (Matt) Burbidge and a great-grandson, Wesley Adshade  and brother-in-law, Everett MacLeod of Halifax. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff of the Medical B Floor at the Valley Regional Hospital for their caring and kindness to an amazing husband, father and friend to many.  A special thank you to Dr. Ramon Salazar his doctor and family friend. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation as per Arnold’s request and a family gathering will be held at a later date. If so desired, donations in Arnold’s memory can be made to the Seeing Eye Dog Foundation or charity of choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
