Michael Thomas Walsh

Michael Thomas Walsh – 76, of Wolfville, passed away Friday, at home, on September 14, 2018. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Louis and Violet (Kenny) Walsh. He is survived by his wife, Helen (MacKenzie); two daughters, Mary Leigh Walsh (Peter Segato), Wolfville; Heidi Elizabeth Walsh (Tony Sampson), Mahone Bay; a son, Michael Edward Walsh (Yiwen Zhao), Wolfville; five sisters, Mary McSween (Mike – deceased), Halifax; Pauline (Don) Millen, Bedford; Cathy (Roy) Crowell, HRM; Marion McManus (Burris – deceased), Bedford; Barbara Walsh, New Minas; two brothers, Bill (Vivian), Halifax; Peter (Rosalie), St. Margaret’s Bay; sister-in-law, Marguerite Walsh, St. Croix, Hants County; five grandchildren, Noelle Segato, Angeline Segato, Isabelle Sampson, Victoria and Liam Walsh. He was predeceased by two daughters, Kimberley Bernadette Walsh and Ann Marie Walsh McKenna; a sister, Maureen Walsh; three brothers, Joe, Fred and Jim. Michael’s family would like to extend a sincere thank you to all who loved and cared for him over the past year, especially Dr. Barbara Ross, Dr. Wightman, VON, Homecare, Father John MacPherson and the church community. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, September 20, 2018 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, with prayers to be held at 7:30 p.m. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 21, 2018 in St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Kentville, Father John MacPherson officiating. A reception will follow in St. Joseph’s Parish Hall. Burial will take place at a later date in the Holy Cross Cemetery, Kentville. Donations in memory may be made to Chalice Catholic Children’s Sponsorship Program or the Cardiovascular Department at the Valley Regional Hospital. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
