Linda Kathleen (Graves) Burgess

Linda Kathleen (Graves) Burgess - age 71, of New Minas, formerly of Kentville, passed away on Friday, November 9, 2018 at home. Born in Kentville, she was a daughter of the late James and Mona (Gee) Graves. She had been employed as a care giver with Tibbetts Home for Special Care from where she retired. She enjoyed reading and watching the squirrels and birds. She also loved spending time with Lynn, while they talked, shopped and went for drives. She is survived by a daughter, Michelle (James) Benjamin, Grande Prairie, Alberta; a son, John Jr. (Diane) Burgess, New Minas; four grandchildren, Summer and Levi Thomson, Dartmouth; Liam and Abigail Benjamin, Grande Prairie, Alberta; a great-grandson, Carter Thomson; four sisters, Barb (John) Graves, Halifax; Mary (Charles) Tidswell, Newfoundland and British Columbia; Mona Graves, Canning; and Josie (Norm) Swinamer, Kentville; seven brothers, David (Lynn) Graves, New Minas; Andrew (Charlene) Graves, Kentville; Billy (Sandy) Graves, Berwick; Tony Graves, Kentville and Ontario; Mark (Wanda) Graves, Ontario; Adam (Cathy) Graves, Kentville; and Steven (Crystal) Graves, Kentville; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, John and a brother, Peter. Cremation has taken place.  There will be no visitation or funeral service, by request. A celebration of Linda’s life will take place from 1-3 p.m. Wednesday, November 14, 2018 in the Meadowview Community Centre. Burial will take place at a later date in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill. Donations in memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
