Joan Margarette (Zwicker) Kosnaskie

Joan Margarette (Zwicker) Kosnaskie - age 84, of New Minas, passed away on Thursday, November 15, 2018 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Kentville, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Beulah (Whitman) Zwicker. In her younger years, she had been employed as a school teacher. After raising her children, she travelled to New York City to train as an electrologist, beginning a long profession in the field. She is survived by three daughters, Karlene Shaffer, Hamilton, Ontario; Annette Joan Shaffer, Toronto, Ontario and Dianne Marie Crosby-Shaffer, Kentville; two sons, Phillip and Giselle, London, Ontario; Jack Shaffer, Oshawa, Ontario; four sisters, Pauline Vanderzwet; Greta Doherty and Grace Moores; two brothers, Phillip and Bernie Zwicker; grandchildren, Christine, Nikki, Joshua and Jaclyn Shaffer; Samantha Russell; Sean, Laura, Lindsay and Casandrea Ward; many great and great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by sisters, Ruth Gartland and Rosemary Anthony. Cremation has taken place.  There will be no visitation or funeral service, by request. Donations in memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
