Adele Marie Thellab McAdoo
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Adele on Sunday, January 6, 2019, at age 94, in Wedgewood House, Kentville. Born in "les Îles-de-la-Madeleine", Quebec, in 1924, Adele was a daughter of the late Joseph William and Rose (Fougère) Thellab. She was educated and lived in Quebec City until her marriage to Gordon McAdoo. Adele pursued and resumed her studies in Nova Scotia universities and taught French at Kings County Academy, Kentville. She had many interests in life enjoying music, languages, reading, writing, studying and travelling. She was generous to many charities. She is survived by her loving daughters, Marlene (Michael) Bradley and Kelly (Gregory) Ells; grandchildren, Alexa and Jessalyn Bradley; step-children, Judy Murray and Brian (Elaine) McAdoo and their families, sister, Maud Thellab and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Adele was predeceased by her beloved husband, Gordon; sister, Martha Delaney; brothers, Michael, George and Albert Thellab. A special thank you to Della Deveau for her loving and faithful homecare. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation, by request. The funeral service, followed by a reception, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 11, 2019 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, Father Gerald Saulnier officiating. Burial will take place in the Holy Cross Cemetery, Kentville. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory may be made to the charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
