Muriel Ella Blanchard

Muriel Ella Blanchard - age 98, passed away on Tuesday, January 22, 2019, in Shannex – Blomidon Court, Greenwich. Born in Centreville, she was a daughter of the late James Roy and Ella May (Burns) Margeson. She had been a member of the Canard United Church since 1960; the Rebekah Lodge for 48 years, a secretary of the Lodge for 14 years, Grand Lodge for 20 years, holding several offices, and was active in the Centreville Good Neighbor Club. Muriel was a rural route driver with Canada Post for 31 years occasionally acting as Post Master in the Centreville Post Office. She is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth "Betty" Dodge, Greenwich; a son, Kenneth, Greenwich; four grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur; sisters, Hilda, Gertrude and Edna; and a brother, Ernest. Cremation has taken place.  There will be no visitation, by request. A private family graveside service will take place at a later date in the Canard Burial Ground. Donations in memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Diabetes Canada. Arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
