William D. "Bill" Russell

William David "Bill" Russell - age 62, Kentville, passed away on Sunday, January 27, 2019 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born on March 3, 1956 in Ontario, he was a son of the late Gladys (Parker) Russell. He had been employed in general maintenance for the Parks and Recreation Department for both Kentville and the Village of New Minas and also worked at Nickerson’s Apple-Bee Acres.  Most recently Bill was employed with Scotian Gold, Coldbrook, where he served for 20 years. He is survived by three cousins, Maurena Taylor, Kingston; Joan Sheppard, Kentville; and George Wheaton, Calgary. Bill will be missed by Scotian Gold coworkers, growers and friends. In addition to his mother, he was predeceased by maternal grandparents, Joseph and Winnifred (Steele) Parker; aunts, Mildred (George) Wheaton and Joyce (Stan) Morine. Cremation has taken place.  The funeral service, followed by a gathering, will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, February 22, 2019 at the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville.
