Vera Adele Mosher

1934-2019

Vera Adele Mosher

Vera Adele Mosher - 84 of New Minas, passed away suddenly at the Valley Regional Hospital on February 12, 2019 surrounded by family. Vera was an "Island girl" born to Bill and Doris (Lockhart) Smith on Summerside, PEI on June 18, 1934. They relocated to Fredericton, NB but she always maintained her Island roots. Vera married her military sweetheart Cyril, and followed him from France to Ontario and Alberta before returning to the Maritimes to plant roots of her own. Vera moved to New Minas in 1977 and enjoyed living in a house of her own. She planted seeds in her garden and seeds of friendship in the neighbourhood. It brought her joy to share the fruits of her garden and loaves of freshly baked bread. Her greatest pleasure was learning about people she met, be they 2 or 102. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Cyril Mosher; children, Andy and (Suzanne) Mosher, Ecuador; Valerie Mosher, Kentville; Philip (Sue) Mosher, Canaan; Angela (Shawn) Ripley, Kentville and honorary daughter, Claudette Reid, St. Albert Alberta; five grandchildren, Jason and Mitchell Ripley, Ben and Sarah Mosher and Spencer Mosher. Vera is also survived by her brother, James Smith of Fredericton, NB; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Shirley from Miramichi, NB. Many thanks to the staff at the Valley Regional Hospital, particularly Dr. Micheal Keough and Dr. Rebecca Clarke who treated her with such gentleness and respect. Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation, by family request. A celebration of Vera’s life and reception will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 18, 2019, in the White Family Funeral Home, The Reverend Doctor Randy Crozsman officiating.
