Chesley "Chet" Allan Winter

1999-2019

Chesley "Chet" Allan Winter

Chesley "Chet" Allan Winter - 20, of Coldbrook, Kings County was taken suddenly from us on Sunday, March 17, 2019 as a result of a tragic motor vehicle accident. He was the oldest son of Robert and Michelle (Vaughan) Winter and an amazing brother to Kaleb. He also leaves behind two people he loves dearly, his girlfriend, Janise Parker and their unborn child. Chet played football for the Holland Hurricanes and completed his first semester at Holland College in PEI this past December. He had a great love for football starting with the Valley Bulldogs in his youth, followed by the Central Kings Gators in high school.  In Chet’s own words "the football team is family, there is no other team that has a bond like the CK Gators do". Chet also played basketball, soccer, baseball and Taekwondo. His leadership and team spirit was an asset to every team he was a part of.  He was an enthusiastic video gamer and had a passionate love and understanding of all animals. He also enjoyed cooking and fishing. Chesley was a loving person who spent his life trying to make everyone around him happy. He was known for his sense of humor, his kindness, and his ability to make everyone around him feel loved. Chesley lived by the motto that ‘everything happens for a reason’ even though we may not understand what that reason is. "Chet-Money" you have touched so many of us! You will be missed by all that had the pleasure of having you in their lives. He is survived by his maternal grandmother, Pat Weir (Jason Deal); ‘Grampie’ Rick MacDonald (Karen Dugas); his paternal grandparents, Sylvia Pleasant-George (Darrell); Ralph and Doris Winter, and Bruce Winter. He is also survived by his aunts, Tammy Burghardt, Carrie Bent (Dustin), Melissa O’Brien (Ian), Tina Winter, Crystal Winter, Debbie Winter, Serrece Winter and Uncle Bruce Dearman; cousins, Savannah and Cody Burghardt, Alana and Shane Bent, Eva and Emily O’Brien, Hannah MacDonald and Issac Winter, Alysha and Dakota Winter-Wood, Sheldon, Willie, Serrece, and Sebastian Winter, and Leeann Dearman. Special family, "Mama and Tata" (Ivan and Olga Kovac), and ‘Uncle Marin’ Kovac, ‘Uncle Nate’ Corkum, ‘Uncle Lloyd’, Linda, Matt, and Travis Butt. He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Allan Vaughan and several great grandparents. There will be no formal funeral service. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held from 1-3 p.m. on Friday, March 22, 2019 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville.  In lieu of flowers, the family encourages you to make a donation to the Central Kings Gators Football Team. Chesley’s desire to help others continues on even now through his gift of organ donation. The family would like to say a special thank you to the first responders, paramedics, LifeFlight team, as well as all the other healthcare professionals involved in his care. Arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville, Nova Scotia.
