Lewis "Bronson" Haggerty

Lewis "Bronson" Haggerty - age 76, of Waterville, passed away early on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at home, surrounded by his family. Born in Mountain Front, Kings County, he was a son of the late William and Frances (Jess) Haggerty. He held many jobs over the years, farmer, factory worker, truck driver, insulation installer, carpet and tile installer and his last and favorite job, as a school bus driver. He volunteered as a Beaver Leader for Scouts Canada long after his kids were grown and no longer attending. He was a 25 year Veteran of both the Berwick & District and Waterville & District Fire Departments. He could also be seen at almost any local community event trying to help however he could. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, the former Barbara "Barb" Farris; sons, Fred, Waterville; Steven (Crystal), Berwick; Scott, Berwick; daughter, Karen (Steve) Collins, Berwick; sisters, Ethel Harvey, Steam Mill; Ester (Ralph) Houghton, Centreville; Alice (Myles) Olmstead, Mountain Front; brother, Clifford, Alberta; five grandchildren, Alexander McInnis, Berwick; Ashley (Dylan) Manning, Berwick; Riley and Parker Haggerty, Berwick; Byron (Alisha) Burton; four great-grandchildren, Mia, Zoey, Linden and Lillee-Mae, as well as countless nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was predeceased by four brothers, Lloyd, Ray, John and Earl; one sister Winnie. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation, by request. A celebration of life, followed by a reception, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 22, 2019 in the Waterville & District Fire Department. The family would like to express special thanks to Susie Reese, Marla Uhlman, the palliative care team, VON and Nurse Practitioner Dr. Melissa Stoddart. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Waterville & District Fire Department.
