Arthur Burns "Art" Lockwood

Arthur Burns "Art" Lockwood – 88, of Kentville, passed away Friday, May 17, 2019 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville.  Born in Wolfville, he was a son of the late Albert and May (Keddy) Lockwood. He had been employed as a call boy with the Dominion Atlantic Railway, Kentville. He also worked in New Brunswick with the Quaker Oats Company. In his later years he worked in the maintenance department of Kings Regional Vocational School, Kentville and with Fritz’s in New Minas. Art was an active member of Bethany Memorial Baptist Church, Aldershot. He is survived by his wife, Donna (Barkhouse) Conohan; a sister, Pauline Howe, Kentville; a brother, Lloyd (Mary), Berwick; step-daughter, Peggy Ricketts, New Minas; nieces and nephews, Melissa, Kimberly, Barb (her son, Elijah), Paula, Lorne, Linda, Harold, Larry and Susan. He was predeceased by his first wife, Etheleen (Delaney); his second wife, Betty Lou (Crandall) Cassidy-Lockwood; an infant son, Steven; a sister, Edith Henshaw; a brother, Bill; a step-daughter, Susan Collicutt. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation, by request. The funeral service, followed by a reception, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 25, 2019 in Bethany Memorial Baptist Church, Reverend Sarah Stevens and Reverend Thelma MacDonald officiating. Burial will take place at a later date on Prince Edward Island. Family flowers only, by request. Donations in memory may be made to Diabetes Canada or SPCA – Kings County. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
