Richard Dean "Dick" Pineo

Richard Dean "Dick" Pineo – 88, of Coldbrook Kings County, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2019 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Berwick, he was a son of the late Perry Dean and Marjorie (Barteaux) Pineo. He had been employed as a conductor with the Dominion Atlantic Railway for 39 years. He was a member of the Kentville Masonic Lodge No. 58, the Evangeline Chapter No. 15 of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Philae Temple Shriners, the Royal Canadian Legion, Kings Branch No. 6, Kentville and  Glooscap Curling Club, Kentville. He was also a member of Orchard Valley United Church, enjoyed square dancing and camping, especially at Kejimkujik National Park. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Lola May (Clarke) Pineo; a daughter, Karen (Tim) Simpson, Berwick; a son, Alan Clarke, Windsor; four grandchildren, Tyler, Jared, Ashlee and Mitchell; three great grandchildren, Willow, Cooper and McKenna Grace. He was predeceased by two sisters, Shirley Waller and Valerie Clarke. Cremation has taken place.  There will be no visitation, by request. A combined Order of the Eastern Star service, Masonic service and funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, May 23, 2019 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. A reception will follow in the reception room of the funeral home. A private family burial will take place in the Berwick Cemetery. Family flowers only, by request. Donations in memory may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
