Douglas Melbourne Ells

Douglas Melbourne Ells - age 74, of New Minas, passed away on Friday, May 31, 2019, at home. Born in Wolfville, he was a son of the late Eugene (2007) and Eleanor (Rand) (1949) Ells. Doug was raised on the family farm by his father and step-mother Shirley (Crowe) Ells. He lived most of his life in Woodside, then in his senior years moved to Canning and then to New Minas.  He was employed with Volkswagen, Texaco and later Dewolfe’s. Doug enjoyed celebrating birthdays and anniversaries of his friends and family. He is survived by step-mother Shirley; son, Mark (Lois), Lower Sackville; brothers, Ronald, New Minas; William (Theresa), Coldbrook; David (Belinda), Hillaton and Gregory (Kelly), Wolfville. He was predeceased by a sister, Gwendolyn, in infancy. Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation or funeral service, by request.   A private family burial will take place at a later date. Donations in memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
