1929-2019

Donald David Job

Donald David Job, 89, of Kentville passed away Friday, July 12, 2019 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Hamilton, Ontario, he was the son of David and Margaret (Burns) Job. Don went to work with his father at Firth Brothers where he became a Master Cutter. He then met the love of  his life Frances and they moved to Rochester, NY where Don worked for Hart Schaffner and Marx as the cutting room floor manager, retiring after 25 years. Enjoying his summer vacations in Nova Scotia, Don, Frances, and Shelly decided to move there full time. Don took a job bartending at the Kentville Legion, where he made many lifelong friends. The Legion has always been a big part of Dons life, holding positions as President, Poppy, Bar, and Youth Chairman. His greatest joy was going every November to talk to the children about Remembrance Day. Don was a loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend who will be dearly missed. He is survived by his beloved daughter, Shelly (Stephen) Meister, Port Williams; grandson, Seth, Port Williams; granddaughter, Spring, Calgary, AB; sister, Sheila Anderson, Guelph, Ontario; numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Frances and sister, Joan Black. There will be no visitation or funeral service, by request.
