George Myron Perry and Gladys Elizabeth Perry

George Myron Perry, formerly of Elkridge, MD, died peacefully at Sunrise of Columbia, MD, on July 31, 2019, at the age of 91. He is survived by his children, Kathy Horsey and husband Danny, Lois Perry and husband Charlie Menefee, and Georgina Roos and husband Rickey; his grandson, Jeffrey Hildebrand and wife Khalia, Rickey Roos Jr. and wife Kelly, Brian Roos; and four great-grandchildren, Faith, Sophia, Connor and Brody. Cherished brother of Stuart and the late Maryon and Karl (George's identical twin). Gladys, his wife of 67 years, predeceased him in January 2018. Although George was born in New York, he lived in Nova Scotia, Canada, for much of his young life, and always maintained a strong emotional connection with Canada, and with the members of his extended family who live there. Following graduation from Nova Scotia Technical College, George returned to the United States, where he served in the US Army during the Korean War. He subsequently worked at the Westinghouse Corporation in Baltimore as a mechanical engineer until his retirement in 1991. George will be remembered as a dedicated member of the choir of Grace Episcopal Church in Elkridge, as a talented engineer with a knack for fixing almost anything, and for his undying devotion to his wife Gladys. The family would like to thank the Grace Church congregation, the wonderful staff at Sunrise of Columbia, and the nurses, therapists and volunteers of Gilchrist Hospice for their care of both George and Gladys over the years. A funeral service followed by a reception will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at the Cambridge Baptist Church, Cambridge, Reverend Mark Shaw officiating. Burial will take place in the Cambridge Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Cambridge Baptist Church or the Grace Episcopal Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville. 

On Wednesday, January 3, 2018 Gladys Elizabeth Perry, nee Webster, passed away at the age of 87 at the Sunrise Memory Care Center, Columbia, MD. Of Columbia, MD, formerly of Elkridge, MD, the beloved wife of George M. Perry. Loving mother of Kathryn "Kathy" L. Horsey and her husband Danny, Lois M. Perry and her husband Charlie Menefee and Georgina E. Roos and her husband Rick. Sister of David Webster and the late Greta Donaghy, Alberta Wesley, Leander "Bud" Webster and G. Irwin Webster. Grandmother of Jeffrey Hildebrand (and wife, Khalia), Rickey Roos Jr. (and wife, Kelley) and Brian Roos. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Faith, Sophia and Connor Hildebrand, Brody Roos and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Perry was born in Massachusetts and moved to Nova Scotia, Canada at the age of 4, where she grew up on the family farm. She graduated from Kings County Academy in Kentville, Nova Scotia and went on to obtain a Bachelors Degree in Secretarial Science from the Acadia University in Wolfville, Nova Scotia. In 1951, Gladys married George M. Perry, her husband of 67 years, and moved to the Baltimore, MD area where she resided for the remainder of her life. Gladys was the founder and first president of the Elkridge Kindergarten and was an active member of the congregation and choir of Grace Episcopal Church, Elkridge, MD for many years. Gladys was an enthusiastic gardener, an accomplished baker and a prolific knitter. A funeral service followed by a reception will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at the Cambridge Baptist Church, Cambridge, Reverend Mark Shaw officiating. Burial will take place in the Cambridge Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Cambridge Baptist Church or the Grace Episcopal Church.
