Bertha Ann Nickerson

Bertha Ann Nickerson – 91, of Coldbrook, Kings County, passed away Sunday, November 10, 2019 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Trenton, Ontario, she was a daughter of the late William and Ida Lambert. Bertha sold AVON in North Bay, Ontario and Coldbrook, having achieved several awards for her sales. Along with her husband, she owned and operated Nick’s Place Convenience Store in St. Eleanor’s, Summerside, Prince Edward Island. She was also a member of TOPS in Coldbrook. She is survived by daughter, Bertha "Bee" (Dennis) McCormick, Dartmouth, their three daughters, Elizabeth and her daughter, Faith; Theresa and her children, Evan and Nicholas; Catherine; daughter, Shirley (Gregory) Graves, Eastern Passage; son, William "Bill", Coldbrook, his sons, Matthew and Ryan and Ryan’s son, Noah; son, Gerald "Jerry" (Kathy), Sylvester, Pictou County, their daughters, Lydia and Katie; son, Richard "Ricky" (Irene), Casey’s Corner; several nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was predeceased by her husband, Master Warrant Officer Roy William "Nick" Nickerson, CD; four sisters, Mary Riddler, Irene Maroni, Thelma Lawrence and Mabel Bailey; four brothers, John, Alfred, Albert and Bill. There will be no visitation, by request. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 14, 2019 in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill, Kings County, Reverend Ivan Norton officiating. Donations in memory may be made to the Annapolis Valley Victorian Order of Nurses or the Canadian Red Cross. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
