Mrs. Eileen M. Snyder
1912-2009
Eileen Madelyn Snyder … 97, of New Minas, Kings County, passed
away on Thursday, April 2, 2009 in the Valley Regional Hospital,
Kentville. Born in Simpson’s Corner, Lunenburg County, she was a
daughter of the late John and Samantha (Ernst) Lowe. She was a member
of the United Church of Canada and had been active with the New Minas
United Church. She was also involved with the Canadian Red Cross and
volunteered for several organizations. She will be sadly missed by her
family and friends. She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Doris
Snyder, New Minas; four grandchildren, Murray, Vancouver; Cheryl
(Richard) Veinot, Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island; Jacqueline
(Eric) Olsen, Waverly; James (Denise) Snyder, New Minas; four great
grandchildren, Steven, Michael, Nathan and Breagh; two great great
grandchildren, Jackson and Kinsley; several nieces and nephews; one
brother-in-law, Milton Snyder. She was predeceased by her husband,
Obie; two sons, Frederick and Lew; seven sisters and five brothers.
Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. Sunday, April 5, 2009 in the
White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service
followed by a reception will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 6,
2009, Reverend David Hewitt officiating. Burial will take place in
Fairview Cemetery, Halifax. Donations in memory may be made to the
Canadian Cancer Society. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to
