Doris Rose (Hancock) Holland
Doris Rose (Hancock) Holland passed away in Headwaters Health Centre
in Orangeville, Ontario on June 9, 2010 in her 71st year. Born to
Robert “Bob” and Evelyn (Leary) Hancock, Wolfville, Doris
graduated from Wolfville High School and then served with the RCAF in
Europe. After leaving the Air Force, Doris made her home in Toronto
and worked for the Government of Ontario until her retirement. Doris
leaves behind husband, Edward Allain; cherished daughter, Robyn and
son-in-law, Carl Robinson, Shelburne Ontario. Also survived by
brother, Jim (Dot) Hancock, Wolfville; nephews, Dale (Misty) Hancock,
Coldbrook and Glenn (Sherri) Hancock, Brooklyn, Ontario;
brother-in-law S.A. “Sam” Milne, New Minas; nieces, Judy
Milne, Dartmouth; Marilyn “Mimi” and Martin Dodge, New
Minas; Faye (Terry) Swanburg, Cambridge, Ontario; nephew, Doug
(Sharon) Milne, Canada Creek, Kings County. Doris was predeceased by
her parents and sister, Ruby (Hancock) Milne. A memorial service was
held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Shelburne, Ontario. A graveside
service and interment will take place at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 13,
2010 in the Willowbank Cemetery, Gaspereau Avenue, Wolfville. A
reception and meet and greet will follow in the Royal Canadian Legion
Hall, 1310 Main Street, Wolfville. Donations in her name can be made
to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes
Association. Doris’ final journey home has been entrusted to the
White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
