Pauline Marion Rafuse - 79, of Baxter’s Harbour, Kings County,
passed away Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at home. Born in Victoria Harbour,
she was a daughter of the late Albert and Rossie (Warner) Parks. She
and her late husband began Cornwallis Supplies, Kentville and later
owned and operated H.E. Rafuse Supplies, Wolfville. Following the
death of her husband, she was employed at Davies and O’Leary and
later with Acadia University. She was a member of the Grand Pré
congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses and enjoyed spending time in
Baxter’s Harbour. As a young person, she was a member of the
Parks Family Singers, where she sang and played the mandolin. She
enjoyed playing cards, especially bridge and bird watching, especially
hummingbirds. She is survived by two daughters, Marion (Claud)
Guitard, Trenton, Ontario; Ann Rafuse (Perley Coldwell),
Baxter’s Harbour; two sons, Brian (Valerie), Centreville;
Stephen (Cheryl), Sackville; a sister, Clara Davidson, Halifax; a
brother, Freeman Parks, Middleton; seven grandchildren, Shay-lee,
Melanie, Joshua, Christopher, Hogan, Rebecca and Levi; three great
grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband,
Harvey E. Rafuse; a sister, Ruth Salsman; a brother, Earl. Visitation
will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, July 29, 2010 in the White Family
Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service, followed by a
reception, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 30, 2010, Mr. George
Laevens officiating. Burial will take place in the Willowbank
Cemetery, Wolfville. Family flowers only by request. Donations in
memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the charity
