Please accept my condolences and regrets for not being able to attend Lyle's service in person. I will continue to smile every time I think of or hear Lyle's name. I met Lyle just as he was finishing his career in the Public Service with DND at the Data Centre in the Dockyard. Although he was quite a bit older than most of us at the time you would never know it by the way he acted. He was vibrant, genuine, helpful, caring and that sense of humour of his was contagious. We really needed someone like that during those days and I'm truly grateful to have had the pleasure of experiencing it firsthand. I must say though, he never did talk much about his past accomlishments, to me anyway, and I am the poorer for that. What a career and life he had. Although I did not know him long I always remembered his passion for life, his positive attitude and the true vitality that seemed to exude his every action.
We have all lost a good man here so to the family, please accept my heartfelt condolences.
Respectfully,
-Barry Stevens

Lyle was a great man, I worked with him at RCAF Torbay in the late 50's early 60's. I visited him in Halifax with my wife a few times while travelling. I lost track of Lyle and tried thru the internet a few times was very surprised to see the Obit in today's paper. He will always be remembered as a good friend to everybody. Many regrets that I didn't get to see him and with the forthcoming storm will not be able to trave. Bob Woodman

Please accept my condolences on your loss.
I found comfort in the hope the Bible offers for our loved ones at Psalms 37:29 which says, "The righteous themselves will possess the earth, and they will reside forever upon it."
We are assured by God in His Word the Bible, that after the earth is cleansed of current troubled conditions, it will be restored to a paradise like the Garden of Eden as He originally purposed. Then our loved ones will return to life on earth in good health. (Isaiah 33:24)
John 5:28,29 tells us that "The hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out..."
In the 'Lord's Prayer' that most of us are familiar with, we ask for God's Kingdom to come and His will to be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Then there will be no more sorrow or pain as we are promised at Revelation 21:4. It reads, "He will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away."
I hope these words will bring you a measure of solace in your time of loss.
Sincerely,
Sandra Sullivan
