Marten Hartwell

Marten Hartwell - 88, of Black River, Kings County, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at home. Born in East Prussia, Germany, he was a son of the late Ernst and Anna (Keuchel) Herrmann. He is survived by his partner, Susan Haley; a son, Peer Herrmann, Germany; two daughters, Anna Haley, Halifax and Charlotte Haley, Kingston, Ontario; a brother, Ernst Herrmann,  Germany; a granddaughter, Mariana Herrmann; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Margaret Büttner; a brother, Ulrich Herrmann. Cremation has taken place under the direction of the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville. There will be no visitation or funeral service, by request. Donations in memory may be made to the Annapolis Valley Victorian Order of Nurses. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
