Dorothy Irene "Dot" Crocker

Dorothy Irene "Dot" Crocker - 64, of Kentville, passed away Friday, May 17, 2013 at home. Born in Kentville, she was a daughter of the late Hudson and Rita (Bennett) Barkhouse. She had been employed with Valley Cab, B&G Taxi, owned and operated Dot’s Taxi and most recently drove for M&G Cab - she loved driving taxi. She enjoyed collecting jewelry, attending flea markets and her plants. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and loved her dogs, Muffy and Sandy. She is survived by her common-law partner, Ronald Burchell; two daughters, Kim Crocker (Anthony Johnson), Woodville; Annette Crocker (Barry Fraser), Kentville; a son, Stephen (Mildred), Sackville; a sister, Darlene (Clyde) Lenihan, New Ross; a brother, Gary Barkhouse, Martin’s Point; three grandchildren, Kayla, Dale and Samantha; nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her former husband, Stephen Crocker; a brother, Lewis. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, 2013 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service, followed by a reception, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 23, 2013. A private interment will take place at a later date. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
