Hazel Mary Bush

Hazel Mary Bush - 85, of Lockhartville passed away Sunday, May 19, 2013 in the New Halifax Infirmary Site, QEII, Halifax. Born in Mt. Denson, she was a daughter of the late Russell and Elta States. She was a quiet and content mother, grandmother, great grandmother and homemaker. She enjoyed sewing, knitting and traveling, especially to be with family. She is survived by her children, Valarie (Mohamed) Ali, Scarborough, Ontario; Crystal (Sherman) Sparks, Dartmouth; Kimberly Bush, Mt. Uniacke; Clarence States, Montreal; Barbara States, Halifax; four brothers, Frederick and Percy, both of Windsor Plains; Arnold and James, both of Toronto; eight grandchildren, Brenda Grogan, James Manuel, Erin Leger, Adam Leger, C.J. Bush, Graysin Bush, Kiara Bush and Onyxx Bush; six great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, James Carroll "J.C."; three children, Virginia Leger, Greta Rocha (Manuel) and Clifford Bush; several siblings. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation, by request. A memorial tribute with a sharing of memories will take place at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 23, 2013 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. Interment will take place in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill. Donations in memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
