James Edward Long
1933-2013
James Edward Long - 80, of Black River, Kings County, passed away Friday, May 24, 2013 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Wolfville, he was a son of the late David and Jennie (Nowlan) Long. In his earlier years, he farmed then spent many years working in the woods. He enjoyed hunting, watching hockey and loved his cat, Tiger. He is survived by his wife, Lois (Mahar); four daughters, Faye (Pat) Coleman, Steam Mill; Arlene (David O’Brien), Gaspereau; Shelley (Tom) Dukeshire, Greenfield; Penny, New Minas; two sons, Brad, Black River; Chad (Krista Sampson), Kentville; a sister, Madge McPhail, Melanson; a brother, David, Port Williams; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was predeceased by two sisters, Ruth and Grace. There will be no visitation, by request. A private family graveside service will be held in the Black River Cemetery. Donations in memory may be made to the Black River Community Club. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
