Jean Elizabeth Norman

Jean Elizabeth Norman - 88, of Grand View Manor, Berwick, formerly of New Minas, passed away Thursday, March 27, 2014 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville.  Born in Port Williams, she was a daughter of the late Howard and Elsie (Corkum) Atwater. Jean enjoyed being a housewife and homemaker, loved her family and took great delight in family gatherings. She was an avid bowler and was active in the New Minas 50-Plus Club, where she was a life member. She was also a member of the Port Williams United Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Eugene "Bob", Grand View Manor; a son, Stephen, Kentville; a sister, Helen Whalen, New Minas; two brothers, Jerry Atwater, New Minas and Ralph (Eileen) Atwater, Aylesford; two grandchildren, Jamie and Shelley; three great grandchildren, Kyle, Wilhelm and Kaiden; two sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Atwater, Coldbrook and Annie Norman, Saint John, NB. She was predeceased by three brothers, Wylie, Murray and Donald. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Monday, March 31, 2014 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. The funeral service, followed by a reception, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2014 in the Port Williams United Baptist Church, Reverend David Ogilvie officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in the Lakeview Cemetery, Lakeville, Kings County. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
