Henry Robert  Keddy

Henry Robert Keddy - 92, of Aylesford, passed away Saturday, April 05, 2014 at the home of his son, Troy, where he stayed in recent years.  Born in Aylesford, Kings County, he was a son of the late Robert Ainsley and Helen "Nellie" Jane (Turner) Keddy. Henry worked at the Aylesford Canning Factory in his early days and was later employed by both Armstrong Meats and Larsen’s Packers as a butcher for many years.  He was not one to be idle and in his later years, could always be found working at his woodpile. He is survived by four sons, Wane, Vancouver, Washington; Winfred (Sandra), Victoria Harbour; Troy (Mary Melanson); Bradley (Maryann Magtagad), Aylesford; two daughters, Doreen (Sandy) MacLellan, Aylesford and Myrna (Leslie) Hayes, Cambridge; three sisters, Esther Chute, Berwick; Florence Carter, Somerset; Marguerite Field, New Minas; three brothers, Morris, Millville; Dorn, Aylesford; Alden (Linda), Berwick; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and the mother of his children, Hazel (Jarvis) Keddy. He was predeceased by his companion of several years, Rose Acker, brothers, Alfred and Gordon, and nephews, Harley Chute, David and Lindsay Carter. Visitation will be held from 7-9 pm on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 in Christ Church Hall, Berwick.  The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, April 9, 2014 in St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Auburn, Reverend Cathy Pharo officiating. Interment will take place in St. Mary’s Anglican Church Cemetery, Auburn.  Following the family interment, a reception will be held in the Christ Church Hall, Berwick.  Family flowers only, by request. Donations in memory may be made to the NS Lung Association, Canadian Cancer Society, the Anglican Church or the charity of your choice.  Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
