Faye Elizabeth Watt

Faye Elizabeth Watt - 93, formerly of Kentville and Barrington, passed away peacefully Saturday, April 5, 2014 in the Wolfville Nursing Home. Born in Barrington, Shelburne County on March 30, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Delbert N. and Jenny Mae (Goodwin) Watt. Faye was employed with Maritime Tel and Tel (Aliant) as chief operator in Barrington, NS until the office closed in 1972. She then transferred to Kentville Maritime Tel and Tel Repair Department until retirement. She was a life time member of the Telephone Pioneers and a Lioness of the Kentville Lions Club for many years. Faye enjoyed travelling, curling and bowling. She is survived by a step-brother, Walton, Halifax; sister-in-law, Eleanor, Yarmouth; special friends, Don and Joan Duggan, Kentville; Bev Hickson, Barrington; cousins, Craig MacMullen, Foleaze Park; Angela McGinnis, Bridgewater; Scott MacMullen, Yarmouth; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Dean and her companion of several years, Jerry Duggan. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation, by request. A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. on April 27, 2014 at Riverdale Cemetery, Riverhead, Barrington, Reverend Sim Rushton officiating. A reception will follow at Wesley Heritage Community Center, formerly the Wesley United Church, Barrington. Donations in memory may be made to the Riverdale Cemetery, the Canadian Red Cross or the Wesley Heritage Community Center. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
