Elva H. Pynch

Elva Helena Pynch - 96, of Cambridge, Kings County, passed away peacefully,  Sunday, April 13, 2014, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Prospect, Kings County, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Claude and Carrie Eunice Elizabeth (Hatchard) Best. She was a member of the Cambridge United Baptist Church for 84 years and was the longest living active member.  She was also a member of the Women's Institute of Nova Scotia.   She is  survived by  three daughters, Maxine Bezanson, Cambridge, Nancy Pynch-Worthylake (Michael), Italy Cross and Coleen Pynch (Don), Berwick; three sons, Dana (Patsy), Black Rock, Randy (Karlene), North Alton and  Joseph "Joe" (Christine), Prospect; a son-in-law Buster Best; 20 grandchildren,  19 great grandchildren and, one great, great grandchild. She was predeceased by her husband, Owen Frederick Pynch; a daughter Ceila Best; a son-in-law, James Bezanson;  three grandchildren and  one great grandchild.  She was the last surviving member of her immediate family having been predeceased by ten siblings. Visitation will be held from 6-8p.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2014, in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. The funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, April 17, 2014, in the Cambridge United Baptist Church, Reverend John Beers officiating. Interment will take place in the Cambridge Cemetery. A reception will follow in the Church Hall. Donations in memory may be made to the Cambridge United  Baptist Church of the charity of your choice.
