Marion Elizabeth Dakin passed away peacefully on March 1, 2014 at Grand View Manor, Berwick, NS. She was born August 4, 1922 in Berwick NS, the eldest daughter of Everett Avery Sanford and Vera Muriel Power of Weston, NS.  Marion was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Clarke, and by her second husband, Glendon Dakin. Well known for her good humour, musical accomplishments, and willingness to listen, Marion was always available to lend a helping hand to her many friends and relatives. A keen student, Marion graduated from Horton Academy in 1938 and returned to take courses at Acadia University in 1970. She was an accomplished seamstress to the delight of her family and friends. Her love of travel took her on many road trips in Canada and the USA, and Scotland, often to visit family and sometimes to simply explore new places. Marion enjoyed curling, tennis and golf. Her interests included a love of reading, playing cards and doing crossword puzzles. She was active in the community in several organizations and she held her own on the duplicate bridge circuit in Berwick. She is survived by her children: Joanne (Mangal) Talwar, Donald (Diane) Clarke, and Susan Clarke (Marc Schiffer); her step-children: Donald Dakin, and Ronald (Janice) Dakin; her grandchildren: Sanjay Talwar (Christine Hooper), Sonia Talwar (Derek Ray), Jillian (Kevin) Pick, Matthew Clarke (Nicole Grist), Alanna Schiffer (Michael Hills) and Steven Schiffer (Carolyn Risley); her step-grandchildren: Julie (Wayne) Fowler and Michael Dakin; and by her great-grandchildren: Abby and Emma Pick, Andrew and Pandora Hills, and Avani Ray; her step-great-grandchildren: Faith-Ann, Jacob and Tyler Fowler; her sister: Audrey Kinsman, and brothers and sisters-in-law Kathryn "Cappy" Charlton, Gerald (Hilda) Clarke, and Jean (Frank) Stacey.
