Paul Richard Longley

Paul Richard Longley - 72, of Kentville, passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Kentville, he was a son of the late Wilfred and Dorothy (Laurilliard) Longley. Paul attended Kings County Academy and had been involved with the Scouting movement, where he received the honour of becoming a Queen Scout. Most of his working career was centered around sales in automotive supplies. Paul was a former member of the Kentville Volunteer Fire Department and had been a member of the Kinsman Club of Kentville. He enjoyed spending time and working on the family cottage at Aylesford Lake. He is survived by a daughter, Sherri, Kentville; a son, Scott (Ailie), Kentville; two granddaughters, Brittany and Kourtnie; a grandson, Timothy; a sister, Sharon, Halifax. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Ann Horton; a granddaughter, Emily Jean Longley and two sisters, Myrna and Rosmond; two brothers, Donald "Buck" and Malcolm "Mac". Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation by request. The funeral service, followed by a reception will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 11, 2014 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, Reverend Lynn Uzans officiating. A private family burial will take place in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill, Kings County. Family flowers only by request. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Arthritis Society.
