Helen Margaret Zwicker

Helen Margaret Zwicker - 91, of South Alton, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Sunday, July 20, 2014 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Charlos Cove, Guysborough County, she was a daughter of the late Captain Peter Charles and Ida Mae (Richard) Richard. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and enjoyed the outdoors, especially during harvest season. Helen loved music and enjoyed attending jam sessions. She was a long-time member of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church. She is survived by four daughters, Dr. Sonia Gaul, Kentville; Debbie (Gary) Huntley, Coldbrook; Narda (Jeff) Hovell, Fall River; Karna (Jeff Fraser) Zwicker, Scotts Bay; two sons, A. LaVerne (Edith), Avonport; Richard L. (Clara), Halifax; 11 grandchildren, Joanne, Stephen, Robbie, Jan, Neil, Tawnya, Heather, Dane, Codi, Kirk and Kelly; 12 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur William Zwicker; two sisters, Mary and Ann; two brothers, Howard and Amos. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. with prayers to be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 24, 2014 in St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Kentville, Father John MacPherson officiating. Burial will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery, Kentville. A reception will follow in St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church Hall. Donations in memory may be made to a charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
