Joseph Raymond Fisher - age 68, passed away Tuesday, August 19, 2014 in Kentville. Born in Windsor, NS, he was the oldest son of Madeline Fisher, New Minas and the late Raymond Fisher. A kind and gentle man, he retired from the Kentville Research Station after 35 years of service. His favourite pastime was spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. He was a wonderful "Grampie". Leaving to mourn his loss are his wife of 49 years, Sharon, his daughter, Heather (Bently) and his son, Michael (Laura), his grandson, Aaron, his granddaughter, Alana and grandson, Benjamin and Dad's special boy, Oliver, who was never far from Joe's side. Also left behind are his brother, Doug (Bev), Alberta and brother, Brian (Bernice), South Berwick, as well as a number of nieces and nephews. Besides his father, he was predeceased by his grandson, Mitchell. The family appreciates so much and want to thank Nanny Cathy and Auntie J for all the help with Benjamin. The family particularly want to thank from the bottom of their hearts Bruce, the paramedic who so kindly came the first time, Lori, an RN in Emergency at the Valley Regional Hospital, Donald, RN at Joe's first time on Med B and Brian, RN on Med B the last time who is the epitome of his profession and tried to do so very much. Also special thanks to Jillian, RN, an angel who enabled Joe to at last peacefully leave this earth. Also many thanks to Dr. Fleckenstein and Dr. Bruce Musgrave for caring for Joe these last 2 years. The thanks for the wonderful care Joe and our family received in the last 3 weeks cannot be put into words. It was nothing short of amazing and we feel so very blessed. Cremation has taken place.
