Harry John Alders

1957-2014

Harry John Alders - age 56, passed away Thursday, August 22, 2014 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville with his children and his family by his side. Born in Blue Mountain, he was the son of Faye (Walker), New Minas and the late Harry Alders Sr. He worked as a carpenter and enjoyed outdoor activities, especially fishing, playing washer toss and spending time with family and friends.  He is survived by daughters, Trina (Cameron) Swan, Hay River, NT; Gillian Alders, Cambridge; a son, Evan, Hay River, NT; their mother, Sandra Alders, Cambridge; grandchildren, Caleb and Sydney Swan; brothers, Russell (Marsha), Chipman Brook; Donnie, South Alton; sisters, Marjorie Leopold, New Minas; Linda (Ken) Grant, Stewiacke; Viola (Eric) McInnis, New Minas; Marie (Robert) Hatifeld, Truro; Audrey (Jack) Carter, Hillsburn; Harriet (Wayne) Cox, Kentville; Barbara (Rick Deveau) Alders, Kentville; Ruby (Timmy) Welton, South Alton. Cremation has taken place under the direction of the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. There will be no visitation by request. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday in the Waterville United Church, Reverend Tom Wood officiating. A private family burial will take place in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill, Kings County. Donations in memory may be made to the Valley Regional Hospital - Carey Me Fund (in support of palliative care in the home) or Crosbie House Society.
