Lester Warren Sawler

Lester Warren Sawler - 92, formerly of Cambridge, Kings County, passed away Thursday, August 28, 2014 in Grand View Manor, Berwick. Born in Cambridge, he was a son of the late Alonzo and Ella (Reese) Sawler. He had been employed as a farm hand and a carpentry helper in the Grafton and Welsford areas, as well as a  custodian in the Cambridge schools. He was a member of the Cambridge United Baptist Church. He is survived by daughters, Erma (the late Carl) Blenus, Coldbrook; Mabel (Darrell) Chambers, Meisner's Section; Julieann (Bill) Russell, New Germany; Eva Rose (Henry Acker) Sawler, Springfield; sons, Emery (Carolyn Brown), Springfield; Lonnie (Christine), Wilmot; Ernie (Kim), Wilmot; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Sawler, Bridgewater; brother, Carl; 20 grandchildren, several great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by daughter, Edith (1963); son, Scott (2010); son-in-law, Carl Blenus (2004); daughter-in-law, Shirley Sawler (2008); estranged wife, Louise (Reeves) Sawler (2014); grandsons, Jamie Prall (1988), Craig Sawler (2011), Michael Blenus (2012); granddaughter, Stephanie Acker (1980); siblings, Clayton, Iona, Stella, Ira, Lula, James, Rosie and Alonzo. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 3, 2014 in the Cambridge United Baptist Church, Reverend Darryl Dykens and Reverend Doctor Judith Saunders officiating. Burial will take place in the Cambridge Cemetery. A reception will follow in the church hall. Family flowers only, by request. Donations in memory may be made to Grand View Manor or the Cambridge United Baptist Church. A special thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff of Grand View Manor for the tender loving care given to Lester over the past nine years. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
