Gordon Burton Swinamer
1927-2014
Gordon Burton Swinamer - 87, of Coldbrook, Kings County, passed away Sunday, August 31, 2014 at home. He was a son of the late George and Vera (Rafuse) Swinamer. He was a veteran of the Second World War. Following the war, he worked on the railway. He was then employed as an accountant for Wade Enterprises, from where he retired. He was a member of the John Howard Society and was a member of the Advisory Board of the Shelburne Youth Centre. He is survived by two daughters, Frances (Hubert) Vienneau, Port Hawkesbury; Margaret Leone "Nancy" Chiasson, Wolfville; three grandchildren, Barb (Jacques) LeFort, Susan (Dave) Smith and Joe Vienneau; five great grandchildren, Isabelle and Gabrielle LeFort, Declan, Carly and Cadan Smith. He was predeceased by his wife, Barbara (Payson); a sister, Sylvia Marsters; two infant brothers. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation. The funeral service, followed by a reception, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 4, 2014 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. Burial will take place in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill. Donations in memory may be made to the Salvation Army or the charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
