Gordon M. Schofield

Gordon Malcolm Schofield - 79, of White Rock, Kings County, passed away on Sunday, September 7, 2014 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in White Rock, he was a son of the late Avemen and Mabel (Steele) Schofield. Until retirement, he had been employed as a Steam Fitter with Local 56. He was an avid fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Toronto Blue Jays. Gordon was a woodsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife, the former Gloria Shirley Croft, a daughter, Glenda Murray, Liverpool, Queens County; two sons, Jack (Jeannie) and Kevin (Krista), all of White Rock; six grandchildren, Jessica, Justin, Jeffrey, Bradley, Kaily and Keriann; a great grandson, Wyatt. He was predeceased by two sisters, Kay Schofield and Marguerite Wood; a brother Lorne Schofield. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, September 9, 2014 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 10, 2014, Reverend Gary Manthorne officiating. Burial will take place in the Gaspereau Cemetery. A reception will follow in the White Rock Community Centre. Donations in memory may be made to the Valley Regional Hospital Foundation or to a charity of your choice.
