Hazel N. Simpson

Hazel Neoma Simpson - 90, formerly of Centreville, Kings County, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 in the Grand View Manor, Berwick. Born on April 28, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Neoma (Taylor) Lacey. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother and friend. She enjoyed music, step-dancing and playing the harmonica. She loved spending time at the cottage and walks on the beach. She especially enjoyed her rose bushes. She is survived by three daughters, Linda (Linden) Brown, Billtown; Helen (Gary) Brown, Centreville; Joyce (Mike) Brewster, Centreville; four sons, Leslie (Nina), Huntington Point; William (Catherine), Kentville; Curtis (Elizabeth), Billtown; John (Joy), Centreville; two sisters, Nellie Lutz, Lake Paul; Edith Lutz, Middleton, 19 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband, Wallace Leo Simpson; a daughter-in-law, Jeanette; three sisters, Marion, Emma and Helen; four brothers, Carl, Russell, Hilton and Ernie. Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. Friday, September 12, 2014 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, where the funeral service, followed by a reception, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 13, 2014, Reverend Thelma McLeod officiating. Burial will take place in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill, Kings County. Donations in memory may be made to the Grand View Manor, Alzheimer Society or Bethany Memorial Baptist Church.
