Evelyn Frances Hazel

Evelyn Frances Hazel - 79, of Canning, Kings County, passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2014 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Canning, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Etta (Wood) Bennett. She was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved to play cards, work in her garden and flowers. She is survived by two sons, James "Jim" (Birgie), Kentville; Michael (Gail), Rocky Mountain House, Alberta; a sister, Elsie (Leroy) Dryden, Truro; three brothers, Glendon and  Gary Bennett, both of Canning; Kenny Bennett, Halifax; five grandchildren, Willie, Luise, Erin, Ashley and Alex; a great-grandson, Liam. She was predeceased by her husband, Lewis Hazel; two sisters, Rita Barkhouse and Annie Dominey; a brother, Phillip Bennett. Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation by request. The funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, September 26, 2014 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, Reverend Bruce Patstone officiating. Burial will take place in the Arlington Cemetery. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Diabetes Association. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
