Roy Avery Harper

Roy Avery Harper - 80, of New Minas, passed away Monday, September 29, 2014 at home. Born in Bear River, he was a son of the late Robert Harper and Clara (Russell) (Harper) Rowsell. He was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was employed with Stirlings and enjoyed fishing and driving his motorcycle. He is survived by four daughters, Phyllis (Clifford) Harper-Stewart, Kentville; Marion (Charles) Harper, Millville; Patty Harper and Milly (Gerald) Harper, all of Kentville; a son, Ken (Donna) Harper, Lakeville; their mother, Lena (Bond) Harper, Kentville; two brothers, Gerald Harper, Kentville; Fred (Sandy) Rowsell, Coldbrook; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Marion; a brother, Cecil. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or funeral service, by request. A private family burial will take place at a later date in St. John's Anglican Cemetery, Church Street, Port Williams. Donations in memory may be made to the Lung Association or the Canadian Diabetes Association. Arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
