Shirley Alva Earl

Shirley Alva (Huntley) (Sherman) Earl - 72, of New Minas. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother on October 3, 2014. She was a beautiful woman who has touched and influenced the lives of many. She was greatly loved by all who knew her. She was born on February 27, 1942 in Canning, to the late Wesley and Marjorie (Legge) Romans. She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Kentville and as a faithful servant to Jehovah, she pioneered while raising a family. She was a hairdresser for many years. She loved to be surrounded by her family as she was in her final hours. She is survived by her husband, A. Russell Earl; brother, Gordon (Lou) Romans; daughters, Leslie (Rick Keats) Matthews; Angela (Dwight) Hazel; Bobbi Jo (Doug Neaves) Huntley; Melanie (Steve) Belliveau; son, Ian (Karen) Huntley; their father, Verge; 15 grandchildren, Tracey, Vashti, Layton, Sheena, Sean, Colton, Phylicia, Karsten, Austin, Tysha, Kameron, Leanza, Dylan, Quinton and Kirklan; six great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and their families; several step-children, step-grandchildren and their families. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by sisters, Rosealine and Sheila; brother, Wesley. A public memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, October 9, 2014 in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 825 Park Street, Kentville, NS. Mr. Chris Plant will officiate. Burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to the World Wide Bible Education Work at jw.org. Arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
